Abstract:
Ant morphological trait library established by Michael Staab, encompassing 7 traits for workers of currently 162 (morpho)species. Measurements were taken using a Leica S6E microscope and a Keyence VHX-5000 (Leica, Wetzlar, Germany; Keyence Deutschland GmbH, Neu-Isenburg, Germany). Where intraspecific size variation occurred, medium-sized workers were selected for measurement. Multiple specimens were measured per species to capture intraspecific trait variation, where possible. Measurements followed the protocol of Parr et al. 2017, Insect Conservation and Diversity 10(01), 5-20.
