Abstract:
Resident phytometers are trees from within the general planting scheme but of which the seed family is known. In summer 2012 we measured several growth parameters and estimated herbivory on 12 phytometer species: Alniphyllum fortunei, Castanopsis fargesii, Betula luminifera, Elaiocarpus glabripetalus, Idesia polycarpa, Cyclobalanopsis glauca, Cinnamomum camphora, Daphniphyllum oldhamii, Castanopsis eyrei, Diospyros glaucifolia, Lithocarpus glaber und Castanopsis sclerophylla. Data was collected in the main experiment. Where labels were present on the trees, seed family information was read from the label. Missing seed family information was added from seed family information held in the 2010 census data file.
Design:
Resident phytometers are part of the regular planting scheme of site B. Plots maps were used for locating individuals of phytometer species.
