Abstract:
Coarse roots play important role in the storage of carbon in forest ecosystem. The coarse root density is a key index to explain the relationships between coarse roots spatial distribution and biotic and/or abiotic factors. By TreeRadar, we scanned the subplots (10m*10m) in each CSP to know the coarse root spatial distribution without destroying the environment.
Design:
In each csp, there are nine sub-plots, we scanned three of them by radar with 10 lines. The length of each line is 10m and 1m interval between two lines. All csps (25 plots) have been studied.
