Abstract:
This dataset gives the distances between the central coordinates of the German raster grid-cells (MTB_Q) in km. It can be e.g. used as distance weights to compute the similarity weights for the Frescalo algrithm (Hill 2012). NOTE: This is only a subset of all possible combinations (i.e. 100 random samples from the full data set). The full dataset is available for download in the attachments of this file.

Name:
MTB_Q
Definition:
Identifier for the focal grid-cell for which the distances to the other cells are computed. It is the 5-digit name of the grid-cell, with "S_" as a prefix. The reason for the prefix is that some grid cells start their 5-digit code with a 0. In some programs (incl. R), numbers starting with 0, the 0 is deleted, practically turning the 5-digit code into a 4-digit code. The prefix prevents this.
