Abstract:
This dataset was compiled through the joint efforts of the sMon working group (www.idiv.de/smon) in 2017-2018. We compiled a multitude of data sources on floristic observation data, starting with the FlorKart Dataset, priveded by the German federal organization for Nature Protection (BfN). A full list of all datasources included can be found in Eichenberg et al (2020, Table S1). The dataset follows a harmonized taxonomy (Jansen& Dengler. 2010. reference list GermanSL ver. 1.4, http://germansl.infinitenature.org). However, we retain the original taxon names as well as the intermediate taxon names that were assigned to the taxa upon harmonization. The data is georeferenced on the level of German gird cells (MTB_Q; ca 4 x 4 km) as well as with the central coordinates of each grid cell in lat, on (CRS: WGS84). Spatial extent:
All 5 x 5 grid-cells of Germany. Spatial coordinates are either given as grid-cell centroids or as original information as provided in the datasource from which the data is compiled (see column Datasource or column Project)
Temporal extent:
60 years, binned into three time slices (1960 - 1987; 1988 - 1996; 1997 - 2017). Original year information is given as start year and end year. If start year = end year, then we know the exact year, if start year and end year are different, then we only know the period in which the datum has been assessed.
