Abstract:
Occurence data of Orthopterans in the federal state of Saxony. The data are aggregated from a shapefile with data of mixed spatial resolution (i.e. exact, exact with uncertainity and on raster niveau) to a common resultion, which is raster quadrants (MTB_Q). The taxonomy of the species was standardized based on the taxonomic backbone of the NCBI via the function classificatio() available in thr R package taxize. The script that was used to process the data available as a shapefile (owned by the state of Thuringia and available from David Eichenberg) isattached to this file as a freeformat file. Moreover, the dataset presented here is only an excerpt of the full list of occurrences. The full list is attached to this dataset as a freeformat file.

The dataset is compiled from a database available to the SMUL for an Atlas application. The original data is available from the SMUL upon request (Holger Lueg/René Wetzig)
