This dataset gives the area and the percentage of Raster Quadrants in Bavarian Forests covered by the different Biotoptypen (maybe translated to 'habitat types', although semantically not correct). This data represents the results of the Biotopypenkartierung in Bavaria (Forests). Probably it is the data collected between 1992 and 2004 as updated on th 08.12.2017. It the original data on the Biotoptypenkartierung belongs to the LfU Bavaria. Here, the original data provided by the LfU was used to calculate the coverage of MTBQs by the different Biotoptyen. The original data is available to David Eichenberg, if needed. An R script how the data was aggregated is included as a freefromat file to this dataset. NOTE: This is not the full dataset, it only contains a representative subsample of the full dataset. The full Data of percentage coverage in Bavaria is attached as a freeformat file (.rds) to this dataset. NOTE: The Forest Biotoptypen survey is not directly handled by the LfU but the Forestry agency in Bavaria. Therefore the dataset concerning Forests is not quality checked in the same way like "Alps", "Lowland" and "Cities".

This dataset does not give any time information. However, the date of the recoding in the field is potentially avaliable from the original shapefile available to D. Eichenberg. They can be obtained there upon interest.
