Abstract:
This dataset gives information on the occurrence as well as abundance (in % area) of plant species in plots established within the framework of the bavarian "Gruenlandmonitoring". This monitoring scheme uses circular plots of 25m² area, with the central point marked with a magnet and its position recorded via GPS. At every timestep of the monitoring, ocurrence and abundance of the species are assessed in-situ. In addition to the exact coordinates, this dataset also gives the central coordinates of the MTB_Q the plots are located in, as well as the MTB_Q number. Moreover, the dataset contains information on the natural region in which the respective plot is located. The taxonomy of plant species is standardized according to the taxonomy available from The Plant List (complied via the R-function TPL from the package Taxonstand). This file is only a exemplay excerpt of the total table. The latter is avaialble as an .rds fine for processing in R as an attached freeformat file to this dataset. The code that was used to derive this data from exceprts of an Access database (available to David Eichenberg, can be obtained from him) is als attached as a freefromat file. In addition, a detailed description of the methodological framework of the Gruenlandmonitoring in Bavaria is attached as a .pdf, too.
