Abstract:
Attack marks on moulding clay caterpillars estimated to rough taxonomic groups. Data collected from site A extinction scenario A trees following TreeDi tree species pair (TSP) sampling design.
Design:
Trees were selected according to tree species pair design using mostly the trees in TreeDi general design with only minor supplementations. 16 tree species from tree richness levels from 1-24 were selected in pairs providing approximately between 5 and 9 individuals of each tree species per tree richness level. Due to high mortality the tree amount per richness level is sometimes less han 5. Artificial caterpillars made out of green moulding clay were placed on the branches in two groups of three. The caterpillars were checked twice during each of the campaigns, with smoothing or replacing damaged caterpillars after the first check.
