Abstract:
These are the compressed files with original waypoints and interpolated elevation model. Please mind that the GIS in Halle is resulting from this data and contains more data on top of that (see dataset page "Main experiment GIS archive", http://china.befdata.biow.uni-leipzig.de/datasets/66). However, the 5m resolution is the best resolution, that is, the mistakes are least high. This means, for calculating plot means, for calculating with anything that can use a 5 m resolution or above, these data are more accurate than the GIS data provided in Halle, which is resulting from the 1m resolution interpolation.
Explanantion of DTA (digital terrain analysis) for Xingangshan, experimental site B:
- data are stored as ESRI ArcGIS shapefile
- all data on slope and apect[1] are given in 'degrees'
- data contain 2 algorithms to calculate slope: mSlope = mean slope[2], sSlope = steepest slope[3]
- standard deviation has been calculated for elevation and for mean and steepest slope as parameter which describes the terrain based heterogeneity of the plots
- DGM (*.asc) and shapefile are according to WGS 84
Ordinary Kriging (Spherical), ConvexHull clipping algorithm
Quality: Rsquared 0.99 RMSE 1.8 m (10-fold cross-validation)
Datasets: Koord.txt (origin, ALLSAT), points.txt (preprocessed), dem5_final.asc (final dem, common ASCII SharedDataFormat), description.txt
Notes: boundary effects based on the interpolation method and the clipping algorithm
