Abstract:
This dataset gives information on the Natrual region in which the center of a german raster quadrant MTB_Q lies. This file can be used to complement other Grid information files provided on the dataportal. The presented dataset is only an exemplary excerpt of the full list of MTBQs and their natural regions. The full list is provided as a freeformat file to this dataset.
Design:
I first calculated the centroid of each MTB_Q using st_centroid (package sf). Then I created a geometry dataset with the central coordinates as pont references. The central coordinate-referenced dataset was then intersected with information on german Natural regions (using st_intersection() )
