Shortname:
Dr.Forest_T1.2
Name:
Dr.Forest_Task 1-2 Sensory experience via soundscapes
Description:
We will adopt a soundscape ecology approach to quantify the effect of forest biodiversity on acoustic diversity and complexity. Automatic audio-recorders (AudioMoth) will be deployed in the plots and will record at different seasons to capture all major acoustic phases (spring bird chorus, summer insects, autumn chorus and winds, winter silence). Mean acoustic diversity per month will be calculated based on the frequency spectrograms and tested against forest biodiversity. Using the same experimental set-up and response variables as in T 1-1, research participants will listen to short audio clips of a forest with low, medium and high acoustic diversity of bird spring choruses.

Abstract:
This dataset belongs to Dr. Forest's task T1.2 "Sensory experience of biodiversity via soundscapes." and contains mean values for daytime (dawn till dusk) acoustic indices in spring 2021 and 2022. Its is derived from the dataset: "Dr.Forest T1.2 ...
