This dataset contains the photosynthetic efficiency of the exploratory plots. It is the potential performance index for energy conservation from absorbed photons by PSII to the reduction of intersystem electron transport. It is a multiparametric index calculated on the basis of steps of the fluorescence emission process. These are: (1) the efficiency of light capture and energy trapping processes; (2) efficiency of the electron transport throught electron transport system It is the potential for energy conservation from photons absorbed by PSII to the reduction flux of PSI end acceptors. It is different respect to PIabs for the term relative to the electron trasport throught PSI, towards the electron final acceptors (NADP+, ferredoxin) PItot can be used as proxy of the overall efficiency of the photosynthetic processes PIabs not include the final step of the electron transport. Anyway is a synthetic parameter of the chlorophyll a fluorescence signal, that describe the structure and the functioning of the photosynthetic apparatus
