Abstract:
Soil water: Leaf Area Index (LAIe) - Germany. The objective of this task is to provide an estimation of the LAI over 32 soil measuring points per plot. LAI measurements were carried out in 10 plots (30mx30m) of the Exploratory Region (on HIPs, highly instrumented plots).
Design:
LAI measurements were performed by taken photos of the crown from the soil ground (height 1,5m above ground) with a commercial digital camera and subsequently calculation into the LAIe (effective leaf are index) with the help of an R script. A systematic measurements inside each HIP were done on 32 measuring points.
